The PACIFIC GEOGRAPHIES (PG), ISSN 1435-8360, is the semi-annual publication of the Association of Pacific Studies (Arbeitsgemeinschaft fuer Pazifische Studien e.V., APSA). It is published through the Department of Human Geography of Hamburg University, Germany. The PG provides an interdisciplinary academic platform to discuss social, cultural, environmental and economic issues and developments in the Asia-Pacific region.

In order to uphold scientific standards, PG is applying a peer-review process. Please pay regard to our Hints for Authors.

Deadline of the special issue No. 48 it will be 31 March 2017. Deadline for the open content issue No. 49 will be 30 September 2017 and for the special issue No. 50 it will be 31 March 2018.

Michael Waibel has been managing editor of the PG since 1999.

Matthias Kowasch has been managing editor of the PG since 2015.
He is currently working as lecturer at the Department of Geography of the University of Bremen, Germany.



The managing editors are supported by the editorial board. The task of the editorial board is to disseminate knowledge about our journal within the scientific community, to invite particularly emerging scholars to publish at our journal, to advise on the contents and to do reviews or to suggest potential reviewers.
